About Me

Combining a passion for creativity with a desire to help others, I have been blessed with a career which has afforded me the opportunity to travel the world, meet my heroes and work with all manner of talented, creative and compassionate people, all doing their part to make the world a little bit nicer to live in.

I've been writing, creating and telling stories since I was old enough to pick up a pen, and doing so professionally for close to ten years.

Along the way, I developed a number of side careers including:
  • Helping businesses enhance their social media presence
  • Promoting outdoor rock festivals attended by thousands of music fans
  • Master of Ceremonies and public speaker
  • Live and broadcast DJ

In 2012, I quit my job in digital media to concentrate fully on what I call The Pursuit of Awesome; a life of value dedicated to achieving big goals and making a positive contribution to the world.

That included leaving my native England, living abroad, channelling my experience in events and marketing into my new business, Almost Famous Music, and getting to work on conquering some of the bigger challenges on my Life List (a term I much prefer over Bucket List since I plan on being around for a long time to come!).

About this blog
What you're reading now is actually Version 2.0 of a blog I began way back in 2004 in an effort to document a couple of short-film projects I was working on at the time. I quickly developed an affinity for this blogging stuff, and for the next eight years continued to update with my thoughts on music, writing, social media, and anything else which happened to be on my mind at the time.

Then, in a very short period of time I went through a number of life-changing experiences which changed the way I approached my life, ultimately leading to The Big Resignation of 2012 and The Pursuit of Awesome.

Attempting to move forward rather than looking back, I decided to scrap all the old content and take a more focused approach to my blog.

The result is this;  thoughts, ideas, stories and songs about creativity, overcoming challenges and living a life most awesome.
I do hope you enjoy reading.
