The '70s gave us Black Sabbath's Paranoid album, and Nevermind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols. It gave us Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan, Morrison Hotel by The Doors and much more great music.
It also gave us Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and their awesome Damn the Torpedoes album.
I'm a big fan of Petty, not only his solo output and that with The Heartbreakers, but also the stuff he did with Mudcrutch and as part of the super-group Traveling Wilburys with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and George Harrison, but as much as I love most of what he's created in his career, there's something about Refugee that really stands out as being something different, something special.
Don't just take my word for it, have a listen.
Please enjoy.
