30-Day Song Challenge 2: Day 14 - A song I associate with breaking up: William Fitzsimmons - After Afterall

Besides the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, which we've already discussed recently, I'm not  much of a breakup song kind of person.

Thinking back to my past failed relationships, I've never had that oft-romanticized post-breakup period of lying in a darkened bedroom, candles flickering as a soundtrack of sorrow and sadness swallows my aching heart.

Though if I did find such melodramatic moments necessary, I'm sure one of the first artists I'd turn to would be the beautiful soul belonging to The Beard himself, Mr. William Fitzsimmons.

I've waxed fanatical before about how wonderfully sad William's music can be, so it probably shouldn't be such a surprise that he'd be my go-to guy in times of heartbreak and tragedy, but I will just say that there's something about the simplicity, the sparseness and sadness of this song that makes it something very special.
