    A few updates

So yes, it's been a while since I updated this thing, but I've been keeping plenty busy in the meantime.

The biggest news I have recently is that I've accepted a place to run the 2012 Virgin London Marathon on behalf of Terrence Higgins Trust, who do a lot of great work campaigning on issues relating to HIV and AIDS.

I'm in the process of setting up a separate blog with details of my training, fundraising efforts and other marathon-related insights, but if you'd like to go ahead and offer to sponsor me now, you can do so at my Virgin Money Giving page.

On a related note, I'm in the process of organising an all-day charity rock concert at Golborne Catholic Club to raise further funds for Terrence Higgins Trust.

The event takes place on January 14th and acts confirmed so far include Smitten Kitten, Skive and Cautious Retreat.

Colour Me Blind will be there too, and as I've just agreed to be their band manager for a while, I expect I'll be talking about them a lot more too in the near future.

In other news, I've been doing a lot of writing lately.

I recently signed up as a contributor for the fantastic lifehack.org website. I've been a long-time reader of Lifehack, so it's great to be part of the team.

My most recent article for the site looked at why automating social media might not provide the best results, whilst my debut article, Use Public Transport to save your sanity and increase productivity was less than well-received by Americans suffering from a lack of decent public transportation.

I'll also have some new poetry published in an upcoming edition of Sparkbright. I love this scene and was very happy to be published in their December 2010 edition, so I'm looking forward to seeing my work published by them again this Winter.

And that's your lot for now, but here's the very excellent Smitten Kitten rocking this summer's Haigh Fest.

    Enjoy!
