    Preston Bloggers Meetup

So, just landed back home from the first, though hopefully not the last, Preston bloggers meet-up.

I'll be honest and admit that the combination of fatigue and four pints of Fosters may prevent me from accurately summing up how I felt about tonight's proceedings, but here it is in a nutshell:

    Fantastic.

As I've said before, and as I'm pretty sure I've raved about all evening, the spirit of events such as this, and the inaugural Preston Tweetup, is the coming together in 'real life' (for lack of a better expression) of folks who usually interact with one another through the comfort of a computer screen.

Not that there's anything especially wrong with that, but by running events such as this it places a huge emphasis on the social side of social networking or whatever you want to call it.

What still impresses me, purely from an egotistical standpoint, is the number of people who I spoke to who told me that they'd read stuff I've posted either here or out there in the ether and enjoyed it. This from people I've only ever spoken to via Twitter or similar places.

It was also great to catch up with Ed and Jenn (who I haven't spoken to in what seems like months) again and to feel like even just a small part of something that could hopefully become so much better.

I kind of feel like I should write more about this, but tiredness keeps getting in the way, so I'm going to sign off and head to bed, with numerous thoughts about the state of my own blog no doubt keeping me up much later than I'd like!
